"Our Colored Memories"

Art for me is a way to expand on the idea that color can be used to both study and improve emotional communication

Color is intricately involved in our everyday lives, helping us to identify objects while also helping us to give meaning to everything that we do.

Using my training in both Art and Psychology I have designed these pieces to be interactive showcasing what they mean to me and requesting input from others on how colors influence them.

"Red"

Red has been used to show passion, anger, and love. All strong emotions that evoke strong emotional memories. Red was apart of my childhood it demonstrated struggles and growth of the family unit. Red is my families van.

"Orange"

Orange brought health and the importance of putting both the physical and mental health before others when it is needed. Orange is the name of the fruit that I ate when I learned to put myself first.

"Yellow"

Yellow is the brightest color it comes from the sun and helps give day-to-day warmth and light. Yellow is happy and can be used to drive the point of happiness. Yellow brought the comfort of home and peace. Yellow was safety from other memories, yellow is my grandmother's sewing chocolate box.

"Green"

Green is the forest. Green lets me expand and let me get lost but learn more about myself than I ever could without it. It is freedom and fear. Green is balance.

"Blue"

Blue is a color that we give to our highest members of our government and we see it as a masculine color. Blue brought relaxation and memories of strength. Blue gave an outlet to push forward, blue is the lap pool.

"Purple"

Purple is my dog's collar. The only thing left of her. Purple has been used as a way to show intuition and Royalty. Purple taught me that it can also be melancholy. Purple taught me that I can move forward and that it is okay to let go of the past so I can explore my future.
